The Owner of this canal front 1940’s duplex apartment liked the downtown neighborhood vibe and wanted to convert his apartments into a single family home. The building was plain and needed the right details to give it the traditional downtown Ocean City style he was looking for.
Design Resources measured the 1,900 SF building and provided existing floor plans and elevations to use as a base for the redesign. The design was challenging since the property was located on a lot which is directly across from a side street. Headlights from traffic could shine into the home, so the room layout was designed to minimize the problem. The building was gutted and two small extensions were added to create a new 2,400 SF, 4 bedroom home.
Barb was instrumental in obtaining Ocean City Development Corporation (OCDC) grant money to help with renovation costs. The project earned an award from the OCDC Facade Program and was featured in their 2017 newsletter.
